Diana’s roots are deeply tied to her Colombian heritage. Her parents are Colombian: her mother is from Bogotá and her father is from Medellín. They met in Cartagena and, in the mid-sixties, came separately to New York, where they later married and where Diana was born. She continues to have strong ties to both Bogotá and Medellín, as most of her extended family resides there. Diana makes it a priority to visit Colombia at least once a year to enjoy the family togetherness that has always been a cornerstone of her upbringing. Bilingual and bicultural, Diana seamlessly bridges her Colombian heritage with her life in the United States, enriching her personal and professional relationships with a unique cultural perspective.

In addition to her real estate career, Diana serves as the Director of Constituent and Support Services for the New York State Assembly, a role she has held since February 2024. Based in Woodhaven, Queens, she works closely with the community to address their concerns and provide solutions, reflecting her deep commitment to public service and activism. Diana also works as a Realtor with Cruz Network Cruse Realty, where she continues to serve her clients with excellence from her base in Jackson Heights, NY.

Diana’s journey in real estate began with her education at the Real Estate Education Center in 2006, where she completed the 45-hour salesperson course in just one and a half weeks while eight months pregnant with her fourth child. Her determination and work ethic have been hallmarks of her career ever since. Prior to her real estate career, Diana studied photojournalism at Baruch College from 1985 to 1988, where she was an active member of the Latino Club, further showcasing her dedication to community and cultural engagement.

On a personal level, Diana is a proud Latina, a devoted mother of four, and a loving grandmother of two. As a single mother, she has balanced her professional success with her personal responsibilities, embodying resilience and strength. A Roman Catholic and a Democrat, Diana is deeply rooted in her values and passionate about making a positive impact in her community. Her role as a community activist allows her to give back and advocate for those in need, a mission that aligns with her work in the New York State Assembly.
