Earl Miranda, Henry Miranda Jr., Ric "Mightybone" Feliciano - the Latin Rhythm Boys

The Latin Rhythm Boys, a powerhouse of Puerto Rican music, owe their vibrant legacy to the vision and passion of Earl Miranda, Henry Miranda Jr., and Ric “MightyBone” Feliciano. This dynamic trio has not only preserved the rich traditions of Jíbaro and Salsa music but has also infused it with modern energy, captivating audiences worldwide.

The story begins with Henry Miranda Sr., a lifelong Cuatrista who founded “Jr. Miranda and His Latin Rhythm Boys” established in 1957 in Puerto Rico, they then moved to Hawaii and then California in 1963. His passion for music and dedication to his craft inspired his sons, Earl and Henry Jr., to carry the torch forward. Growing up surrounded by music at family celebrations, the brothers developed a deep love for their Puerto Rican roots and the rhythms that defined their heritage.

After their father’s passing on August 12, 1989, the brothers pursued their musical paths, eventually reuniting to revive and evolve the Latin Rhythm Boys. In the early 2000s, they invited their cousin, Ric Feliciano, to join the group, blending his salsa expertise with their Jíbaro influences. Together, they created a unique sound that honors the past while embracing the future.

Under the leadership of Earl Miranda as musical director and Henry Miranda Jr. as music producer, the Latin Rhythm Boys have become synonymous with high-energy performances and a distinctive style reminiscent of the FANIA All Stars. Ric Feliciano, a trombonist and arranger, brings a bold trombanga flavor to the group, drawing inspiration from legends like Willie Colón and Mon Rivera.

Their music, a harmonious blend of old-school salsa and modern elements, has earned them acclaim and a dedicated fan base. With three successful albums—Musica De Mis Padres (2005), Year of The Cuatro (2013), and CELEBRANDO – 60 Years Est. (2018)—the band continues to push boundaries. Their latest project features collaborations with Latin music luminaries, including Grammy winners Johnny Polanco and Willy Torres, showcasing their commitment to excellence.

The Latin Rhythm Boys remain a family-centric project, with Earl, Henry Jr., Ric, and other relatives contributing to the group’s success. While not all members are related by blood, the band fosters a sense of family, welcoming talented musicians who share their passion and vision.

For Earl Miranda, Jíbaro music is more than a genre—it’s a connection to his roots and a source of inspiration. The group’s dedication to preserving this tradition while incorporating modern salsa elements has set them apart in the Latin music scene. Their performances, which feature a mix of original compositions and carefully selected covers, reflect their commitment to authenticity and innovation.

The Latin Rhythm Boys’ influence extends beyond live performances. They have contributed to Hollywood soundtracks, Netflix projects, and jingles, further cementing their place in the entertainment industry. Ric Feliciano, a seasoned music educator, emphasizes the importance of balancing technical skill with emotional connection, a philosophy that resonates in the band’s music.

As the Latin Rhythm Boys continue to evolve, their mission remains clear: to celebrate their Puerto Rican heritage, honor the legends who came before them, and inspire future generations. With their infectious energy, masterful arrangements, and unwavering dedication, Earl Miranda, Henry Miranda Jr., and Ric “Mighty Bone” Feliciano are ensuring that the rhythm of their music will echo for years to come.
