The Voice of Dreams: The Story of Garrick Franz, aka Jerry LA

Garrick Franz - Jerry LA - UniMusik Radio

Garrick Franz, better known as Jerry LA, grew up in Guatemala with a heart full of dreams and a mind captivated by the magic of media. As a young boy, he would sit by the radio, mesmerized by the voices that seemed to carry stories, music, and emotions across the airwaves. To him, the radio wasn’t just a device—it was a portal to the world, a bridge that connected people, cultures, and ideas. Little did he know, one day, he would become that voice on the other side of the speaker.

“I am a Guatemalan with dreams,” Jerry often says, “and I decided to fight for them in this country.” That country was the United States, where he arrived with nothing but determination and a vision. The journey wasn’t easy. Like many immigrants, Jerry faced challenges—language barriers, cultural adjustments, and the pressure to prove himself in a competitive industry. But he had something that couldn’t be taught: passion.

Jerry pursued his education with vigor, earning a degree in Communication Sciences. He knew that knowledge was the key to unlocking his potential. While studying, he worked tirelessly, taking on odd jobs to support himself while never losing sight of his ultimate goal: to create a platform that celebrated music, culture, and community.

In Los Angeles, the city of dreams, Jerry found his calling. Partnering with the talented Kimberly Solano, he co-founded UniMusik Radio, a revolutionary project that would redefine the way people experienced music and culture. Broadcasting from the heart of Los Angeles, UniMusik Radio became more than just a station—it became a movement.

“We want to be that international but above all local platform with which the community identifies,” Jerry explains. “We want to contribute and be a reference for our music and culture.”

UniMusik Radio is a vibrant blend of news, Latin rhythms, and innovative programming. It’s an evolutionary proposal that bridges the gap between traditional FM radio and modern streaming platforms. Available on Android, iPhone, and Alexa, UniMusik Radio reaches listeners far and wide, yet its heart remains deeply rooted in the local community. Jerry and Kimberly have created a space where artists, listeners, and cultures converge—a space where every note and every lyric carries a message.

“Music is life,” Jerry says with conviction. “Every note and every lyric carries a message. Some are positive, others not so much, and some are just rhythm. But all music transmits something—vibes, emotions, stories.”

Through UniMusik Radio, Jerry has become a voice for the voiceless, a champion of Latin culture, and a beacon of hope for dreamers everywhere. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of community, and the magic of music.

Today, Jerry LA is not just a radio producer and announcer; he is a storyteller, a cultural ambassador, and an inspiration. He reminds us all that dreams are worth fighting for and that with passion, hard work, and a little rhythm, anything is possible.

As UniMusik Radio continues to grow, Jerry’s mission remains the same: to connect, to inspire, and to celebrate the beauty of music and culture. And in doing so, he proves that the boy who once sat by the radio in Guatemala has become the voice that inspires the world.
