George L. Castillo - City Wide Sports Connection

Citywide Sports Connection is more than just a sports program—it’s a movement. George envisioned a relational, bridge-building initiative designed to bring communities together, restore family values, and mentor the next generation of leaders. At its core, the program uses sports as a vehicle to foster connection, mentorship, and personal growth.

Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, Citywide Sports Connection organizes events like the Citywide Olympics, a flagship fundraiser that unites teams and families in a celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit. The program’s primary focus is on working with children and their families, providing them with educational tools and coaching that instill hope, purpose, and a sense of belonging.

George’s approach is rooted in the belief that true success comes from living relationally connected lives. By mentoring and coaching, City Wide Sports Connection aims to transform neighborhoods and cities, starting with the youngest members of society—our children.

George’s journey to founding Citywide Sports Connection is marked by a career of excellence in sales, marketing, and leadership. With a strong background in strategic marketing and management, George consistently ranked in the top 3% of sales representatives during his tenure at First USA Bank. He later became a general manager for a national insurance company, leading a team of 15 agents, and eventually served as National Sales Director for Mannatech, where he trained and developed over 50 representatives nationwide.

This wealth of experience in leadership and team development laid the foundation for George’s ability to launch Citywide Sports Connection. His objective has always been clear: to use his skills and experience to empower individuals and organizations to reach their full potential.

George’s dedication to leadership and service is evident not only in his professional achievements but also in his personal accolades. As a student at Southwest Texas State, he was the proud recipient of the American Legion Award, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding citizenship in areas such as courage, honor, patriotism, leadership, scholarship, and service. This recognition reflects the values that continue to guide George’s work today.

In addition to his role as a community leader, George has served as a Professional Process Server since 2010, further demonstrating his commitment to integrity and service in all aspects of his life.

Under George’s leadership, Citywide Sports Connection is transforming lives and communities, one relationship at a time. By focusing on relational community transformation through sports, the program is creating a ripple effect of positive change that starts with children and extends to families, neighborhoods, and entire cities.

George L. Castillo’s vision is clear: to grow champions for life by influencing values, building character, and developing leaders. Through his unwavering dedication and passion, he is not only restoring communities but also inspiring a generation to live with purpose, hope, and connection.

As George often says, “It’s not just about winning games—it’s about winning in life.” And with Citywide Sports Connection, he is doing just that.
